Tye Dillinger requested his release from WWE a few days ago and was granted release a few days after that. He is subject to a 90-day no-compete clause.
He is likely to end up in AEW eventually, as Cody Rhodes offered his support for his friend.
Rajah reports that the general consensus seems to be that Dillinger wasn’t considered as an important star. So he was expendable for the company as his loss wouldn’t hurt the company in the long run.
We will have to wait and see what Tye does next.
