WWE’s Original Plans For Seth Rollins Vs. Brock Lesnar Storyline Heading Into WrestleMania

After winning the 2019 Royal Rumble match, Seth Rollins earned the opportunity to go to WrestleMania and challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship.

Original plans for the Rollin/Lesnar program heading into WrestleMania 35 was said to have involved Roman Reigns and his battle with leukemia as part of the storyline. However, it appears as though WWE has decided to go a in a different direction in regards to the build for the Universal Title match between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins at Mania.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the Rollins vs. Lesnar match at WrestleMania, and he noted that the plan now is for WWE and Rollins to plant seeds of hope that he can defeat Lesnar at Mania, with the idea being that it will start out with Rollins not having any change at defeating Lesnar. Then each week they will begin to inch closer and closer to the idea that Rollins has a real shot at beating Brock at WrestleMania.

They will use promo’s from Paul Heyman, like they did last night, to slowly lay down the groundwork, and start to gradually build up the hope that Rollins will be able to overcome the odds and beat Lesnar.

It isn’t know however how WWE will actually book the Universal Title match at WrestleMania. The outcome of the match could easily once again come down to whether or not Brock Lesnar signs another extension to remain with WWE, but what is known is that by the time WrestleMania is upon us that WWE will have built up the idea that Seth Rollins stands a legitimate chance against Brock Lesnar.

We will keep you updated if we hear anything more regarding WrestleMania 35 and/or the Universal Title match involving Lesnar and Rollins.
