Kofi Kingston Reported To Be New Front-Runner To Face Daniel Bryan At Fastlane

WWE has teased that Daniel Bryan’s opponent for Fastlane will be announced on tonight’s episode of SmackDown LIVE, and apparently plans have changed as to who will be named for that spot.

According to a report from F4Wonline, WWE is said to have made changes on Monday as to who Daniel Bryan is scheduled to face at Fastlane on March 10th from Cleveland, Ohio. As of Monday morning WWE is said to have had plans in place for Fastlane and for WrestleMania 35 for Daniel Bryan’s opponent, however changes were made following Sunday’s Elimination Chamber PPV.

It is now being said that the new front-runner to be announced to face Daniel Bryan at Fastlane is Kofi Kingston. Originally WWE had no plans in place involving Kofi, but after the response from fans following Kofi’s performance on last week’s SmackDown in the gauntlet match and then even more so after the Elimination Chamber match, the decision was made to go with Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston instead.

It isn’t known however if this change for Fastlane will play into WWE’s plans for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35, as it had been said that Bryan was scheduled to wrestle a returning WWE Superstar instead of somebody who is currently active on the SmackDown roster.

We had been hearing that Kevin Owens was favored to be the one getting the spot at WrestleMania, but now with WWE making changes for Fastlane involving Kofi, it isn’t clear exactly what the company is planning for Bryan at Mania.

We will keep you updated when we hear more regarding Fastlane, or plans for WrestleMania 35.
