Seth Rollins Was Offered Contract from Impact Before WWE

Recently on the E & C Pod of Awesomeness, WWE Superstar Seth Rollins was a recent guest of their show. On that episode of the podcast many things were discussed, one of them specifically being his time on the independent scene and nearly signing with Impact Wrestling (at the time TNA) before getting a phone call from WWE.

Dixie Carter had plans of making Seth Rollins (Tyler Black) the face of TNA and was looking to revamp the whole roster. This happened after Rollins reached out to John Laurinaitis several times without getting any response.

Rollins went into detail on the podcast:

“I received this contract from TNA and I basically agreed to it verbally to Terry Taylor. They faxed over the contract, before signing the contract I let Ring of Honor know that I was interested in signing with TNA. At the time Ring of Honor was being booked by Jim Cornette, he went on to lose his mind and so many expletives were in the conversation that followed and Cornette was so irate and went on to say that ‘Nobody is going to get you over in TNA, nobody gets over in TNA they get under’.

Cornette went on to look over the TNA contract to make sure they were doing you right.

While Cornette was looking over the contract from TNA, Rollins made a call to Laurinaitis one last time. Rollins didn’t get an answer but left a voicemail.

“I told him I got this contract from TNA and if I don’t hear from you I’m probably going to sign it.”

Within 10 minutes Laurinaitis calls Rollins back and claimed he was so busy and went on to say that he’d give him a call tomorrow around lunchtime. Laurinaitis went on to tell Seth that they don’t give out jobs but they give up opportunities and there is an opportunity in Florida with a developmental deal.
