With the announcement and launch of All Elite Wrestling last month, and the signing of some of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s top talent it has left many wondering what is in store for another Top NJPW Star, Kota Ibushi.
One half of “The Golden Lovers”, Kenny Omega was revealed as one of AEW’s latest signings when he appeared at the Double Or Nothing Ticket Party at the MGM Grand in Last Vegas last week. With Omega finally officially ALL ELITE, did that mean that Ibushi would be next? Omega spoke about the possibility of Ibushi working with All Elite Wrestling last week and revealed that the door is always open, but Ibushi’s obligations to his wrestling school in Japan might interfere.
Well, it looks like we can finally put all speculation and debate to bed as Kota Ibushi revealed at NJPW’s New Beginning in Osaka that he will be staying with New Japan Pro Wrestling going forward, and will not being joining Omega in AEW.
Ibushi came to the ring at New Beginning and addressed the sold out crowd, and announced his intentions to remain with NJPW saying:
“I’ll stay New Japan Pro-Wrestling.”
