NXT has many talented female superstars who could go after Shayna Baszler’s NXT Women’s Title. It seems that Baszler’s next challenger has been decided, and it is sure to be a great one.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Io Shirai might be the next to challenge Baszler for her NXT Women’s Title. Here is what he said:
“Yeah, so they did a match and I think it was a trios match and Io pinned Shayna. So normal NXT WWE booking that means that Shayna and Io are going to do a championship match pretty soon and that’s good. It’ll probably be one of Shayna’s best matches.”
“I don’t know if that would be a TV match or the New York TakeOver.”
Io has honed her craft in Japan and the WWE universe already has a good idea of just how skilled she is in the ring. We will have to wait and see how their rivalry will build up.
