Update On Potential AEW Announce Team

So far the hottest topic of discussion in the wrestling world has arguably been about All Elite Wrestling in one form or another. The company has already signed up some of the top free agents in the business, and it’s said that more big signings and announcements are on the way.

It been reported that AEW currently has a couple of television deals on the table, and the potential for a future tv show seems highly likely. On a recent audio update via PWInsider Elite, Mike Johnson talks about the names that he has heard as potential announcers for AEW TV.

Regarding potential AEW announcers, Johnson said:

“I have not heard anything about the announcers yet except for obviously Alex Marvez who did the launch party for them. One would assume he would be in mix as a potential announcer.”

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross’ name has been connected to the project since it was first reported that plans were in the works. Ross is still currently under contract with WWE, but it is said that his deal ends soon.

“Jim Ross’ contract is coming up very soon with WWE and once he’s a free agent anything is possible. It all depends on if you want an established voice to be announcer or you’re looking for a fresh voice but one of the things I think helped New Japan Pro Wrestling on AXS not with die-hard fans but people who were just looking through channels was they flipped and they heard Jim Ross’ voice and they stopped.”
