IMPACT Wrestling President Reportedly Address Entire Roster Prior To Monday’s TV Tapings

This has been an interesting year for IMPACT Wrestling and owners Anthem Sports, which isn’t out of the norm historically for the company. They once again moved their weekly television program to a new network, they saw the departure of key personnel backstage and on-camera, as well as numerous wrestlers – including some former champions.

With a new year now upon us, IMPACT Wrestling is looking to continue to move forward and they did so by putting on their first pay-per-view event of 2019 this past weekend. IMPACT Wrestling made their return to where it all started for them Nashville, Tennessee, as the company presented Homecoming from the infamous “Asylum”.

They followed that up with their first set of TV tapings of the year, and PWInsider has reported that the President of IMPACT Wrestling’s parent company Anthem Sports Ed Nordholm addressed the entire locker room.

The meeting was said to have included for the most part a positive speech from Nordholm. He told the roster that 2017 was a “learning year” after Anthem had taken over the company, and that 2018 was about getting them in position for the future. Nordholm also said that everyone is optimistic and enthusiastic for what is to come in 2019.

Nordholm also addressed IMPACT Wrestling’s move from POP TV to the Pursuit Channel and Mike Johnson went on to explain his report saying:

“One of the reasons Anthem took over the company was so that they could have it for their own assets and Pursuit is one of those assets. With the deal at Pop ending, Impact now has the digital rights to the Impact Wrestling series again, which is why they can also simulcast it on Twitch on Fridays.”
