WWE Receives Cease & Desist Order From Independent Wrestling Promotion

On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, MLW Owner Court Bauer talked about having to send WWE a cease and desist order.

Bauer said, “I had guys at WaleMania approached by WWE people backstage in the green room about signing. I’m like ‘you can’t do that, I’ll give you a freebie, don’t do it again’. Boom, they do it again. I had to send a cease and desist to WWE, that’s called tortious interference.”

Bauer expanded on the current relationship between MLW and WWE emphasizing that things are still not good between the two.

Bauer said, “We brought in Garza along with Ultimo Ninja this past spring. They vanished, blowing off pre-tapes to meet across town with WWE Talent Relations and negotiate deals. Super talented guys but that was unprofessional and puts you on my do not disturb list. Sketchy move by WWE too.”

MLW Owner Court Bauer was a formerly employed by WWE as a writer, and it has been noted before that many of the wrestlers on their roster have been targeted by WWE.
