HBK Reportedly Displeased At Botched Spot At WWE Crown Jewel

HBK made his in-ring return and teamed up with Triple H to take on The Brothers of Destruction in the main event of WWE Crown Jewel. They would go on to beat the Brothers and secure the win. But all of them took some nasty bumps in the match.

During the match, Shawn Michaels did a moonsault from the top turnbuckle to the outside, except no one was there to catch him and he landed on his face, which obviously wouldn’t feel good.

On Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer mentioned how Shawn was very displeased that he had to take a needless bump. This is what he said:

“I’m sure he [was loopy] — how could you not? He landed on his head. I’m sure he’s — a 53-year-old guy landing on your head from to top of the ring post I’m sure he got hurt.”

“You saw when he landed. He didn’t look happy at all. Didn’t they say that he was smiling? I just look at him and go, ‘He landed on his face, he’s not happy at all.’”

Meltzer added that watching Michaels wrestle this match was like a man realizing that he’s too old to wrestle anymore and he shouldn’t have come back. Perhaps this will be a wake-up call for HBK and he will be back to retirement, which he did mention in an interview.
