Update On How WWE Can Talk To Or Negotiate With Talent Under Contract With Another Promotion

There has been a lot of buzz around members of the Bullet Club drawing a lot of interest from WWE, especially following the success of ALL IN, which was put on by Cody Rhodes and Matt & Nick Jackson (The Young Bucks).

Rumors have been flying regarding Cody, The Young Bucks, Marty Scurll, Adam Page, and others being offered hefty WWE contracts once their current deals expire. The members of the Bullet Club have recently said that they plan on sticking together, but that doesn’t necessarily rule out a WWE run. But how can WWE talk to these high profile wrestlers while they are under contract with NJPW or ROH? Well, Mike Johnson discussed this on a recent audio update on PWInsider Elite and shed some light on the whole scenario.

“If you don’t think, and no one is going to admit this. But if you don’t think that Triple H or someone representing Triple H has not reached out to Matt and Nick Jackson or Adam Page or Marty Scurll or Cody Rhodes Rhodes or whoever.”

“Sure, ‘legally’ and ‘air quotes’ they’re not allowed. But that doesn’t mean Triple H can’t call Steve Corino and say, ‘Steve, why don’t you reach out to those guys see what they’re interested in.’ And Steve Cornio calls his good friend Matt Jackson and says: ‘chirp chirp chirp — the water’s fine they want to come in!’”

“Or Steve Corino calls Christopher Daniels and Christopher Daniels calls Matt Jackson or Christopher Daniels calls Matt Jackson’s wife! Because certainly contractually they couldn’t speak to Matt Jackson, but they could speak to his wife or his dad or his best friend or his dog. I mean these things happen in pro wrestling all the time.”
