Update On When Shinsuke Nakamura Might Be Cleared To Return To Action

As was seen on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown LIVE, it was announced that Shinsuke Nakamura will face Jeff Hardy for the United States Championship at the upcoming Extreme Rules PPV.

Currently, Nakamura has yet to be cleared to compete after suffering an injury last week after being bitten by a police dog at the arena in Bakersfiled.

Nakamura’s status was discussed on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. Dave Meltzer stated that he expects Nakamura to be cleared as early as Monday, which was the reason that we saw WWE beginning to push the matchup for Extreme Rules already.

Regarding Nakamura’s injury status, Meltzer said:

“Nakamura, they announced him for the pay-per-view. He’s not cleared right now. He’s going to go meet with his doctor on Monday. So he could be cleared as soon as Monday and they expect him on the pay-per-view.
