It was reported on numerous websites, as well as here on bodyslam by one of our writers earlier today on rumors that Rey Mysterio had signed a 2-year deal that would see him return to WWE. However, it now appears as those reports may have been premature.
Our friends over at Ringsidenews have a report up that shoots down the rumors that were circulating and being reported earlier in the day. Their report notes that a source has confirmed with that that Mysterio is still planning on appearing at ALL IN on September 1st in Chicago, and that he has not yet signed a deal with WWE.
The report went on to add that at last word, Mysterio and WWE were still in negotiations to work out a contract that would see him return to the company for 3 years. If in fact Mysterio does sign a deal to return to WWE before ALL IN, it is very likely that he would have to pull out of the show but that still remains to be seen.
In the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE wants to break the news themselves once a deal is finalized.
