The City Of Tampa Submits Bid To Host A WrestleMania And Royal Rumble

The city of Tampa, Florida has entered the bidding war to host a future WrestleMania and Royal Rumble.

Tampa Bay Sports Commission executive director Rob Higgins has officially submitted a bid to host WrestleMania at Raymond James Stadium in 2023, 2024 or 2025.  They’ve also entered the bidding war to host the Royal Rumble in 2022 or 2023.

Raymond James Stadium is the home to the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  The stadium was built in 1996 and has a capacity of 65,890.

Tampa has hosted the NFL’s Super Bowl on numerous occasions and the Tampa Bay Sports Commission has successfully lobbied for Tampa to host the 2017 College Football Playoff national title game and the 2018 NHL All-Star Game.

WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil, who played defensive end at the University of Florida, helped Higgins make the announcement.  Tampa and the surrounding area is home to many WWE Superstars.
