As seen on tonight’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, WWE Superstar Paige announced her retirement from professional wrestling.
“Unfortunately due to neck injuries, I can no longer perform in this ring as an in-ring competitor.”
Paige announced that she is no longer medically cleared to compete after suffering another neck injury a few months back. She thanks everyone in the back that has helped her along the way, all the women on the roster, and said that this is the hardest thing she has ever had to do in her life.
Paige went on to thank Daniel Bryan for being an inspiration and giving her hope that she may be able to compete again one day. She also thanked WWE Hall of Famer Edge, for helping he realize that there is more to life outside of WWE, and helping her cope with her retirement announcement.
Paige said she wanted to make the announcement in New Orleans, because it was where she made her debut on RAW. She thanked the entire WWE Universe, and left the mic in the middle of the ring.
