Chris Jericho Reveals That He Pitched Vince McMahon An Idea For WrestleMania 34

On a recent episode of Talk is Jericho, Chris Jericho discussed the recent PR fiasco that surrounded WWE regarding initially naming the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal after The Fabulous Moolah.

As you are probably aware, when the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal was first announced it was named for WWE Hall of Famer The Fabulous Moolah.. which was not received well by fans, as well as WrestleMania sponsor Snickers. After a lot of negative feedback the decision was made to change the name from The Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal, to simply the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal.

Jericho revealed on the show that he had actually pitched an idea to Vince McMahon regarding the naming of the Women’s Battle Royal and how they might be able to save face in light of the recent blowback.

“I actually texted Vince and said, “You should call it the Sensational Invitational” and name it after Sherri Martel. He sent me a “thx” back. “Thanks”…”
