WWE Reportedly To Hold Major PPV In Australia Later This Year

The Herald Sun, a major newspaper in Victoria, Australia, is reporting that WWE has partnered with “Visit Victoria” to put on a WWE live event there in October.

According to the report, this show would end up being a WWE PPV Event with an announcement expected to take place at WrestleMania 34 on April 8th from New Orleans. It has been estimated that the event would bring in more than $100 million in revenue to the state’s economy.

You may remember that there have been rumors that WWE has been looking to hold a major event in Australia for some time. One of the rumored potential venues for the possible WWE Australian PPV has been The MCG, The Melbourne Cricket Ground, which is the tenth largest stadium in the world. The idea is for the event to draw 100,000 fans. WWE last visited Australia back in 2002 when they held an event at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium as part of WWE’s Global Warning Tour. The show drew over 56,000 in attendance.
