In the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that there is still no deal in place between WWE and Rey Mysterio regarding his return to the company.
Rey Mysterio is supposedly meeting with Triple H very soon to discuss a deal, and that is based upon Triple H clearing his schedule. The deal that Mysterio will be seeking is said to be one that is outside of the norm. Mysterio is not looking to work a full-time schedule at this point in his career, and there are also questions of opportunities outside of wrestling that factor in.
Rey Mysterio was backstage at the February 26th SmackDown LIVE house show in San Diego, California but all the key officials would have been backstage for RAW in Anaheim that same night. So the chances that Mysterio was able to work out a deal there are very slim.
PWInsider shot down reports from Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso that claimed Mysterio was backstage at Tuesday night’s SmackDown LIVE tapings as well. Which is further indication that Barrasso’s report of Cena vs. Mysterio at WrestleMania are inaccurate.
