More Title Matches To Be Featured On WWE TV After WrestleMania

As was reported earlier in the week, there is a lot of speculation that WWE is planning to drop the single branded PPV format after WrestleMania this year, and return to dual-branded events. The speculation started after WWE sent out an email on Monday stating that the upcoming Backlash PPV would now be a dual branded event instead of a RAW exclusive PPV.

On yesterday’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez discussed the topic of WWE PPV’s becoming dual-branded moving forward. He mentioned that WWE is not going to have as many title matches featured on PPV events once the change is made to doing dual-branded shows after WrestleMania 34. Basically, WWE will not be having two Tag Team Title matches, two Women’s Title matches, or you won’t be seeing both the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship defended at every single PPV. Instead the idea is for WWE to have more title matches featured on weekly television programs moving forward.
