Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) vs. Jay White

Pretty even start to the match. Tanahashi doing his air guitar taunt towards Jay White.

White knocked out to the floor, and Tanahashi goes for a leap over the top rope, but nobody is home. Tanahashi appears to have tweaked his knee. White wraps Tanahashi’s leg around the barricade and begins to kick it repeatedly.

Both men getting back into the ring, White catches and drops Tanahashi, Jay goes for a pin, but only a two count. White continues to dominate the match. Tanahashi still favoring the knee, but the crowd is cheering him on. The champ fights back with some punches to White, but can’t string together enough offense to really make a difference in the match.

Tanahashi connects with a couple of dragon screws sending White out to the floor. Tanahashi up top, HOLY SHIT! High fly flow all the way to the floor.

The action goes back into the ring. Tanahashi planted with a deadlift german suplex by White. Tanahashi rolls outside to the floor to regroup but White follows. White goes for a suplex and just drops Tanahashi head-first on the ring apron.

Tanahashi thrown back into the ring, Jay White heads up to the top rope, however, Tanahashi doesn’t quite do what he wants by not being into position, so White ends up jumping down. He goes over and kicks at Tanahashi. White yells “Show me the Ace!” and he gets popped in the face for his effort.

Jay White goes back up top, he attempts a missile dropkick but misses. He gets caught with another dragon screw from Tanahashi. Both men end up on the second rope, but White gets sent crashing to the mat.

White with a snap dragon, but two sling blades from Tanahashi drop him. Pin attempt on White, and a two-count. Another High fly flow drops White, Tanahashi goes up again and White rolls out of the way.

Tanahashi catches White with modified crucifix and adds a bunch of elbows. A Kiwi Crusher lands, into a pin, no kick out! That was close! Nice bridged suplex by Tanahashi, into a pinfall and another two-count. Tanahashi heads back up top yet again, but White climbs up also and looks at Tanahashi. White gets slapped in the face and drops back to the mat, Tanahashi hits ANOTHER high fly flow on his back, and gives him yet another one for good measure, here’s the pin attempt and the victory.

Winner: Hiroshi Tanahashi via Pinfall to retain the IWGP Intercontinental Championship
