John Cena Teasing Involvement In Upcoming DC Comics Watchmen Series On HBO

Over the last few days rumors have been floating around the internet that WWE Superstar John Cena may be in the running to play Dr. Manhattan in the upcoming DC Comic’s Watchmen project on HBO.

It all started a few weeks ago when Cena posted a photo on his instagram of The Comedian’s blood smeared button, which is more or less known as the Watchmen logo. While Cena’s instagram account has been known to be the a collection of random images with no explanation, he followed it up a week later with a second post relating to the Watchmen comic franchise. The second image that Cena posted was that of Dr. Manhattan, which led to many people speculating that these posts were connected and was a tease that he may be involved in the upcoming HBO series.

These posts from Cena are definitely intriguing, as he has been known to use his social media accounts to tease and directly respond to many issues and situations in the past. While nothing has been confirmed, and Cena playing the role seems pretty far fetched at the moment, things could definitely change. This could be a lobbying ploy by Cena to gain buzz and momentum for his portrayal of the character.

We will keep you updated if anything more becomes known on Cena’s involvement in this upcoming HBO & DC Comics project.
