Possible Indication Of WWE’s Plans For Newly Announced Women’s Tag Team Titles

As we saw on last week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, Vince McMahon announced that the company will be introducing Women’s Tag Team Titles in 2019.

After the announcement was made last week, the WWE Universe was left with some questions regarding how the company would handle the induction of the new set of Women’s Tag Team Titles. Many speculated as to what the plans for the titles would be, whether they would be brand exclusive or if they would be defended across the different brands.

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles were discussed on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Live, and Bryan Alvarez commented on the situation possibly clearing up some of the speculation. According to Alvarez, WWE has only ordered one set of Tag Team Titles to be made, which appears to mean that there will only be one set of Champions unlike the men’s tag titles which are brand exclusive.

Regarding the newly announced WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, Alvarez said:

“I speculated on history, I said every other belt, they got a set of belts for each brand. Now apparently, they did only order one set of belts so it does appear and granted this could change because they could always order another set of damn belts — it does appear that there will be a traveling set of Women’s Tag Team Championships.”

“Why there’s a traveling set of Women’s Tag Team Champions and everyone else has their own belts I have no idea.”

So it appears as though the Women’s Tag Titles will be traveling and defended across WWE’s different brands. We will keep you updated as more news regarding the Women’s Tag Titles becomes known.
