Former IMPACT Wrestling Champion Officially Parts Ways With Company

IMPACT Wrestling is once again going through another period of uncertainty after the company’s weekly television show made the move a few weeks back to the Pursuit Channel after their contract with the POP TV expired.

There has also been reports on the atmosphere backstage following the move to the Pursuit Channel, which stated that none of the talent under contract appear to be excited or happy about the move.

One thing is for sure though, and that is that the company has yet to recover after losing their deal with Spike TV to broadcast their weekly television show. The company has undergone a lot of changes over the last couple years, new management, multiple new looks and logo changes, new commentary team, and lots of changes talent wise.

Well it has been announced that a former IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion is leaving the company as their contract expires at midnight tonight officially making them a free agent. It was first reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet and later confirmed by DJZ himself, that the former X-Division Champion’s time with IMPACT Wrestling is officially over.

DJZ sent out a tweet earlier in the day confirming his departure from IMPACT Wrestling, saying:

“At midnight tonight, i will be a free agent for the first time in 7 years.

…and 2019 seems like the perfect time to be available for whatever new opportunities may come my way.”

“I would like to thank IMPACTWRESTLING for the last 7 years. They gave me a platform to hone my craft, make mistakes, learn from them and grow as a performer. They stuck w/ me through difficult times and provided the opportunity to wrestle for a living.”

You can see DJZ’s tweets regarding his IMPACT Wrestling departure below.

DJZ is a former two-time IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion, and also a former IMPACT World Tag Team Champion alongside his former partner Andrew Everett.
