Rey Mysterio Reported To Be In Line For A Title Match At WrestleMania 35

Rey Mysterio recently made his return to the WWE and joined the SmackDown LIVE roster. Mysterio’s return had been highly anticipated after he made a surprise appearance as an entrant in the 2018 Royal Rumble.

Now with WrestleMania 35 quickly approaching, we should start to see WWE placing Superstars into programs that will begin their build towards their Mania match. According to a report from Giancarlo Aulino on Barnburner’s No Holds Barred podcast, it appears as though Mysterio will remain in the hunt for the United States Title and will have a match for the belt at WrestleMania 35.

“I spoke to a few sources as well and right now Rey Mysterio is being penciled in for a United States title match but they’re still working on who is going to go into WrestleMania with the title. Three names being discussed: Shinsuke Nakamura holding it until then to face Rey Mysterio. Samoa Joe is another one or Andrade Cien Almas — can you imagine Rey Mysterio vs Andrade Cien Almas, two Mexicans for the United States Title?”

“I’m hearing too that two of the three names of whoever doesn’t walk into WrestleMania with the United States Title, they will be in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal. So there’s going to be plenty of star power in that match.”

We will keep you updated if we hear anything more regarding Rey Mysterio’s involvement in WrestleMania 35, or plans for the US Title.
