Matt Riddle’s NXT TakeOver Debut Cut As Match Is Now Officially Made A Pre-Show Dark Match

NXT Superstar Matt Riddle’s arrival was one of the most highly anticipated in some time. Riddle recently made his in-ring debut after originally appearing in the crowd at a previous TakeOver, and had been scheduled to make his in-ring TakeOver debut this weekend at NXT TakeOver: War Games II in a match against Kassius Ohno.

However, Matt Riddles match against Kassius Ohno will not be making it to the TakeOver: War Games II main card on Saturday night, instead the match has been moved to the pre-show. The match will not air on the NXT TakeOver special, instead Riddle vs. Ohno will be filmed and will air at a later date on NXT TV.

It was earlier reported how this Saturday’s NXT TakeOver card has the least amount of matches and is the “smallest” card since WWE began running the regular specials, so it is somewhat odd that Riddle’s match was moved off the main card and to the preshow.
