When Did Vince McMahon Decide To Change The Company’s Mindset About “Sending Fans Home Happy”?

On a recent episode of “Something To Wrestle With”, Bruce Prichard revealed Vince McMahon’s change in philosophy about “sending fans home happy.”

Back in the old days WWE had a different approach to how they put on their shows. The old mindset was when WWE was touring and doing house shows, the idea was to leave the fans happy and wanting to see another show as quickly as possible. This is not how WWE runs their events today, and Prichard explains how Vince McMahon has been going with this change in philosophy for quite some time now.

“When Vince went national with Hulk Hogan it was always leave them happy, leave them ‘up’ no matter what. That changed when we went to the monthly pay-per-views and the philosophy has changed even more so now with the Network.”

“They’re trying to get heat they’re trying to get people not as satisfied with those big shows so they’ll come back to see their hero or whatever return later on down the road.”

A perfect example of this change is the recent Dean Ambrose heel turn and attack on Seth Rollins a few weeks back on RAW following the announcement that Roman Reigns was taking a leave from WWE while he once again battles leukemia.
