As we saw tonight on WWE Evolution, the NXT Women’s Championship was on the line as Kairi Sane put her title on the line against former champion Shayna Baszler.
The two put on an amazing match, as the two battled inside and outside of the ring.. and even into the crowd. However, in the end Sane was not able to hold off the onslaught from Baszler and her four horsewomen teammates Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir as eventually the numbers game caught up to her. Sane had Baszler in a roll up, but was sent into the ropes by Shayna only to have Jessamyn Duke connect with a kick to the face of Kairi Sane. Sane stumbled and fell back and was caught directly into Shayna’s finisher. Baszler locked in the chokehold tight and this time there was no escaping, but Sane would not tap out, instead the referee called the match after she lost consciousness.. and with that we have a new NXT Women’s Champion in Shayna Baszler.
Following her victory Baszler joined her Horsewomen friends, and the three left the arena too a lot of heat from the crowd who was heavily behind Sane all throughout the match.
