Saudi Arabia Will Remain As Designated Venue For Crown Jewel Event As Confirmed By WWE

WWE has been under fire lately and been urged to pull out from Saudi Arabia due to controversy, but it looks like that won’t be happening. The company announced that the event will go on as planned in Saudi Arabia.

WWE fully explained their reasoning as provided below, in their Q3 2018 Results.

“WWE has operated in the Middle East for nearly 20 years and has developed a sizable and dedicated fan base. Considering the heinous crime committed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, the Company faced a very difficult decision as it related to its event scheduled for November 2 in Riyadh. Similar to other US-based companies who plan to continue operations in Saudi Arabia, the Company has decided to uphold its contractual obligations to the General Sports Authority and stage the event. Full-year 2018 guidance is predicated on the staging of the Riyadh event as scheduled.”

Crown Jewel will most definitely be happening in 8 days now, in Riyadh. Needless to say, there still will be backlash from this as many fans will be very upset over this turn of events. There is also no confirmation as to what will happen with Cena as he will not be appearing for the event.

So we will have to see how the event turns out.
