Break Up Of RAW Team Last Night May Have Been Overlooked And Overshadowed

With everything that was going on last night on RAW concerning Roman Reigns announcement that his leukemia had returned and he was relinquishing the WWE Universal Title, as well as new RAW Tag Team Champions crowned – with a Dean Ambrose heel turn thrown in too boot, there was some smaller events that went down which might have been overlooked.

During last night’s episode of RAW, Titus O’Neil came out and did a tribute to breast cancer survivors in honor of WWE’s partnership with the Susan G. Koman Foundation and October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Titus share a very personal story about his grandmother and her battle with the disease. During the commentary for Titus’ segment, it was mentioned that Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews have apparently parted ways.

The mention of the breakup of Titus Worldwide was overshadowed by the segment, and didn’t even get an on-air altercation or storyline to show the groups demise. It was seen awhile back during an episode of RAW that Dana Brooke and chose to leave the stable, and her leaving of the group had been a featured part of the RAW broadcast. However, this was not the case at all for the remaining members in Titus and Apollo, as their breakup was barely noted during commentary of a segment unrelated to the group.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the abrupt and barely featured breakup of the team of Titus Worldwide. Regarding the split between Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews, Meltzer said:

“So Titus and Apollo Crews broke up, they had a phantom breakup. They’re just out of nowhere… I guess it doesn’t matter because they weren’t doing much in Titus Worldwide anyway but it’s kind of like, it’s one of those things sometimes they do stuff to do it. To me, if you’re going to do a breakup you should have a better direction for other people or an idea of where you’re going because it’s not like Titus and Apollo are going to feud.”

“Titus is a good talker, he’s a really good talker. He’s not a great wrestler. Apollo is a very talented wrestler who is struggling for a variety of reasons some of it because he’s been pushed like a guy you shouldn’t care about and that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. So no more Titus Worldwide.”

We will keep you updated if we hear any information regarding future plans for Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews.
