Roman Reigns Announces He Has Leukemia And Relinquishes The WWE Universal Title
As seen on tonight’s episode of RAW, Roman Reigns announced that he has Leukemia for 11 years, and that unfortunately his disease has come back. Due to his health issues, Roman Reigns stated that he is relinquishing the WWE Universal Title.
Roman said, “I’ve been living with leukemia for 11 years, and unfortunately it’s back…I’m going to have to relinquish the Universal Championship.”
It had been reported earlier in the day that Roman missed this weekends WWE Live Events, and that it was believed that he was dealing with some type of unknown injury. Sadly, it appears as though it wasn’t an injury but a possible life threatening disease.
Roman addressed the crowd in a very emotional and heartfelt promo, in which he said that this isn’t a retirement speech, but that he will be back after he kicks leukemia’s ass once again.
