Will We See Any WWE Talent Leave For NJPW Next Year?

3 Years ago WWE made a major move and brought in four of NJPW’s top stars when they signed Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows. With all their original contracts expiring at the end of the year, many have speculated if a return to NJPW is in the cards for any of these Superstars.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discusses the current contracts those WWE Superstars and he explains the reasoning that might come into play for re-signing with WWE instead of returning to Japan.

Regarding New Japan bringing back their former talent, Meltzer said:

“There is interest in New Japan in bringing these guys back. I don’t expect for them to go. Nakamura moved here, he lives here. I have not heard any interest from him in going back. Gallows, I’ve heard there’s a part of him that wants to go back. Anderson… Anderson’s got you know, kids. I think Anderson because of the kids and things like that even if you’re away more you’re not away so long because it’s one thing to do the New Japan thing to do the Cody and Young Bucks thing and be gone a couple days a month but it’s another thing to be gone the entire month which is what Anderson and Gallows were doing when they would go.”

“So when you have kids, even though you work on the road more days it’s not as tough mentally because it’s not like you’re not seeing your kids for 3 weeks which is very hard — you’re not seeing them for a couple days which isn’t fun but it’s a lot easier to live with. So I think that’s really the key when it comes to Anderson in particular. But time will tell. Yes, New Japan would want them back, that I know.”

We will keep you updated if we hear anything more regarding the future of these current WWE Superstars.
