AJ Styles Survives Samoa Joe At WWE Super Show-Down

AJ Styles and Samoa Joe have a long history together, working in various wrestling promotions throughout their career, spanning over a decade or two. Their current rivalry in WWE was perhaps their most personal yet. It was a very bloody and brutal match that saw both competitors give it their all in order to pick up the win.

Styles’ mouth was busted open, and he went on to dropkick the chair which Joe brought into the ring in his face and laid him down.

Both their bodies were put through the test. In one spot, Styles reversed an attempt by Samoa Joe to powerbomb him through a table which he brought in. Styles ended up sending Joe through the table instead. Towards the end of the match, AJ Styles would lock on the Calf Crusher after reversing out of a Coquina Clutch and Joe, who reached for the ropes to break up the pinfall out of instinct, had to tap out because as there were no rope breaks in a no DQ match. Thus AJ retained his WWE championship.

It was truly a phenomenal match, to say the least. Perhaps their rivalry has finally come to an end.
