Rowan’s Injury Reportedly Derails Larger Role WWE Had Planned For The Bludgeon Brothers

As we saw on this week’s episode of SmackDown LIVE, The Bludgeon Brothers dropped the SmackDown Tag Tea Titles to the New Day.

The SmackDown Tag Title Match was discussed on a recent audio update via PWInsider Elite, Mike Johnson reported during the segment that WWE apparently had a much “larger role planned” for The Bludgeon Brothers prior to Rowan suffering a torn bicep at SummerSlam.

Regarding WWE’s plans for The Bludgeon Brothers before Rowan’s recent injury, Johnson said:

“I know he got hurt at the pay-per-view and I don’t know if that’s why they did the shitty finish. They were not supposed to switch the tag belts this week. I was told there was a larger role planned for The Bludgeon Brothers coming out of the pay-per-view. I don’t know what it was but the injury is why they did the tag titles switch.”

It has previously been reported that Rowan is set to head to Birmingham, Alabama this week to undergo surgery to repair a torn right bicep. He is expected to miss between four and six months of action, and could possibly be out longer depending upon the progression of his rehab.
