It has been reported for months that former WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio has been in talks with the company about a return and that a return was inevitable once both sides were able to come to terms with the details of the deal.
It appears as though Rey Mysterio’s WWE return will be happening sooner than later. In the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter it was reported that Rey Mysterio is “very close to returning.” It was also noted that that the last independent dates being advertised appear to be the first week of September, which could indicate that Mysterio is WWE bound once those commitments are fulfilled.
One of those final indie dates is the upcoming ALL IN event in Chicago on September 1st, where Mysterio will participate in a six-man tag team match along side Bandido and Fenix against the team The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) and Kota Ibushi.
