On Last night’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, we saw an in-ring segment with Elias, which like clockwork was interrupted. This time it was Bobby Lashley that came down to the ring, and performed a song with Elias, only to have Elias attack Lashley after the song was over.
On the latest audio update via PWInsider Elite, Mike Johnson discussed last night’s segment with Elias and Bobby Lashley. Johnson went on to speculate that the purpose of the segment was to set up a match between Lashley and Elias for SummerSlam.
“So, where going to be getting Bobby Lashley vs. Elias at SummerSlam I guess.”
It had previously been reported that there was a rumored plan WWE had been kicking around that would have seen Bobby Lashley be inserted into the Main Event WWE Universal Title Match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. But it appears as though that plan is no longer on the table, and that WWE has decided to go with Elias and Lashley instead.
