Multiple Top Level WWE Superstars Contracts Expiring Soon

On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported on the contract status of multiple WWE Superstars. Meltzer reported that AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson’s contracts with WWE are all expiring early in 2019. All four of these talents signed their contracts with WWE back in 2016 for 3 year deals.

It has been reported previously, and Meltzer once again mentioned during the discussion that New Japan Pro Wrestling has already expressed interest in bringing Shinsuke Nakamura back to NJPW, especially now that the company has recently expanded into the US Market. The belief internally is that Shinsuke Nakamura’s name value has gone up tremendously since he made his debut with WWE.

Regarding the contracts of Styles, Nakamura, and Gallows & Anderson, Meltzer said:

“It wouldn’t completely shock me. I know they do want him back. There will be attempts for all those guys. Gallows and Anderson, if they wanna go back there, they can go back there. They’re kind of treading water [in WWE]. Who knows how that’s gonna go. I don’t anticipate anyone going back there [but] you just don’t know how people feel and what people want out of life.”
