Why Bobby Lashley Beating Roman Reigns Was The Right Decision

Last night at WWE Extreme Rules, Bobby Lashley defeated Roman Reigns. For so many fans, this outcome was unexpected. Nonetheless, few are complaining as this can potentially shake things up in the main event scene.

Here is why Bobby Lashley beating Roman Reigns was the right decision.

Lashley vs Lesnar?

While the match between Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley did not have direct implications for the WWE Universal Championship, there is definitely more to it.

Prior to their match, RAW GM Kurt Angle offered WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar an ultimatum: Lesnar shows up at tonight’s RAW, agrees to his next opponent or he is stripped of the title.

Now it would only make sense that Lesnar is thrown back into the picture now. The Beast has not been seen since Wrestlemania 34, but has even step foot back in the octagon by confronting UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier.

Furthermore, Reigns was tipped to face Lesnar for the title once again, reportedly at Summerslam. But now with Lashley beating Reigns, it would appear as if WWE are going in a different direction.

Change in the main event scene

A portion of the WWE universe are vocal about the main event scene. After Wrestlemania 34, not much more can be said about Roman Reigns’s push, other than it has not worked out.

The previous encounters between Reigns and Lesnar were not received too well. So a change in opponent for Lesnar is not a bad decision, as it will essentially freshen things up.

Also, Lesnar has never faced Lashley before so it would be the ideal time to do so, with both men finally in WWE at the same time.
