Nia Jax versus Ronda Rousey at the 2018 Money in the Bank PPV was scheduled to be the main event of the night, but it was later reported that WWE changed it to the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match instead.

The Wrestling Observer reported that WWE did not have enough confidence yet to let Ronda Rousey main event in a singles match. However, WWE official’s mindset changed after seeing Rousey performance at WrestleMania 34 and Money in the Bank, where her opponents felt safer with her in the ring.

WWE officials thought there’s a slight risk to let Ronda Rousey handle singles matches given the short amount of time she had to prepare for her matches. However, Ronda’s recent performances have made officials more comfortable to book her in main events in the future.
