Kurt Angle Gives His Pick To Win The MITB Ladder Match And Calls Him “A Real Ass Kisser”

Kurt Angle participated in a Facebook Q&A recently, the RAW GM fielded questions from fans that ranged from a wide variety of topics, but one question and answers that stood out was, who is Kurt Angle’s pick is to win this year’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match.. and his answer may surprise you.

“Question: “Who is your pick for this year MITB??

Answer: “Honestly? He’s a long shot. But, Kevin Owens. He seems to always find a way to shine. A real ass kisser :)”

It should also be noted that Kevin Owen has never received his rematch for the Universal Championship after losing the belt to the Goldberg at the 2017 Fastlane PPV.

WWE’s Money in the Bank PPV has grown to become one of the company’s most anticipated shows of the year. The popularity of the event could not be ignored by company officials, and by most is now considered to be one of the “Big 5” yearly WWE PPV’s. MITB joins the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series as WWE’s premiere PPV events.

The Money in the Bank ladder match was originally featured as a gimmick match as part of the WrestleMania card, but eventually the decision was made to give the match it’s own PPV to be built around. The MITB ladder typically features six WWE Superstars vying for the Money in the Bank briefcase which is suspended high over the middle of the ring. Inside the briefcase is a contract that guarantees the winner a title match which can be cashed in at any time of their choosing.

Only three times in the matches history has the MITB winner been unsuccessful in their attempt to cash in the briefcase. The first unsuccessful Money in the Bank cash in occurred back in 2012 when John Cena announced ahead of time that he planned to cash in the briefcase on RAW 100, challenging the then WWE Champion CM Punk. However, due to outside interference from The Big Show, Cena won the match, but the Championship does not change hands by way of disqualification.

The second failed Money in the Bank cash in came the following year when former WWE Superstar Damien Sandow would attempt to cash in his MITB briefcase against John Cena, who was the WWE Champion at the time. Sandow lost the match cleanly, and marked only the second in the company’s history the Money in the Bank winner would fail to cash-in the briefcase.

The third and most recent failed MITB cash-in came just last year on an episode of SmackDown LIVE, as 2017 MITB winner Baron Corbin attacked John Cena during his match with WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. Corbin would cash-in his briefcase, but would end up losing the match to Mahal after John Cena returned the favor and cost Baron the match.

This year’s Money in the Bank PPV takes place on June 17th from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. This year’s MITB PPV will be co-branded for the first time since 2011. In previous years multiple Money in the Bank Ladder Matches were held for each of WWE’s brands, two men’s and two women’s matches, this year’s event instead will see only one men’s MITB Ladder Match and one women’s MITB ladder match.

Author’s take

My pick to win the Money in the Bank 2018 ladders match is KEVIN OWENS or Finn Balor. Owens and Finn Balor are in the same boat and they both have earned the right to claim their rematch at the Universal Championship. What’s yours?
