WWE Hall of Famer, and sixteen time World Heavyweight Champion, Ric Flair announced that he has cancelled his scheduled appearances for this weekend due to “sudden illness”, which The Nature Boy claimed is the first time in his career that he has missed a day of work. It has been reported that the illness is nothing serious and said to be a bad case of the flu.

You can see Flair’s announcement of the cancellations via his instagram account embedded below:

It’s no secret that Flair has had his share of health problems as of late. As you may remember he was hospitalized and placed in critical condition last year where he was placed on life support and went into a medically induced coma after being taken to the hospital for an “upset stomach” that actually turned out to be far more serious. Flair needed to undergo colon surgery to remove a blockage that was the “catalyst” for an array of different health issues — including kidney failure and congestive heart failure. Flair made what doctors called a miraculous recovery, after being on life support for 10 days.

Before coming down with a sudden illness sometime last week, Flair had been booked for a pretty busy weekend. “The Nature Boy” had been scheduled to attend this year’s annual Beat the Streets: Rumble on the River 2018 this past Thursday at South Street Seaport’s Pier 17 in New York City. Also on Friday night May 18th, Ric Flair was set to host the Voodoo Lounge After Party following a concert by Back in Black: an AC/DC Tribute Band, the event was hosted by Lava Cantina The Colony in North Dallas. To close out the weekend, Flair was booked to take part in the CWA Wrestle Raise V: Spa City Slam at the Hot Springs Convention Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas on Saturday night.

We will keep you updated if we hear any more news regarding the health of WWE Hall of Famer, the 16 time World Heavyweight Champion, Ric Flair.
