Randy Orton Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery Earlier This Week

WWE announced Friday that SmackDown LIVE Superstar Randy Orton successfully underwent knee surgery earlier this week to repair a medial tear to his meniscus.

Orton’s last appearance on WWE programming was at BackLash when he was unsuccessful in his attempt to recapture the United States Title. He was noticeably absent from this week’s WWE European Tour, and now we know why. Orton is expected to miss around three months of action while he recovers from surgery to repair his left knee. That should put Orton’s return sometime in early to mid August, which should be in time for this year’s SummerSlam PPV.

Randy Orton told WWE.com, “I’ve known I needed the surgery since late last year, but I’ve been waiting for the right time to get my knee cleaned out. Right now was the right time.”

Orton’s wife Kim posted a video to her Instagram account on Thursday which showed Randy at home with his family. You can see that the left knee of Orton is bandaged, but he appears to be able to move around okay considering he just had surgery a few days prior.
