WWE Placing More Restrictions On Talents Signed To Their UK Roster

When WWE first began building their United Kingdom roster, the company had told Wrestling Talents and Media Outlets that there would be no restrictions for talent signed that would prohibit where they could work outside of WWE.

Obviously this ended up not being the case, as Talents signed to a WWE UK Contract were not allowed to perform on any events being broadcasted unless they were specifically pre-approved by the company. Unfortunately for many this also was the case even for events outside of WWE that were not being broadcast, as they also had to be pre-approved by WWE.

With the recent announcement of the dates and locations for the second annual WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament, and reports coming out of more UK talent that has rumored to have signed a contract with the company, WWE’s UK Roster and Division has been a hot topic. On top of the restrictions that were in place upon last years debut of the WWE UK Championship, it now appears as though even more restrictions are being place on Talents signed to WWE’s UK Roster.

On the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter it was reported that talents signed on as part of WWE’s UK Roster are no longer allowed to work any events being promoted by Revolution Pro or Defiant Wrestling.

While these are the only two promotions currently that WWE has “banned” their UK Talents from appearing for. It is believed that many other Wrestling Promotions will or already have been added to the list, as WWE is trying to solidify their footing within the UK and European Wrestling Market as they continue to grow and expand their UK Roster and Division.

WWE has ties financially to two UK Promotions already, Progress and ICW. These two promotions are presumed to be the likely exception to the restrictions WWE has placed on talents they sign.
