Brock Lesnar To Break CM Punk’s WWE Championship Record

Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE back in 2012 and ever since he has become the most dominant superstar in the Wrestling industry.

Brock Lesnar challenged Goldberg in 2017 for the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 33 and won. Ever since Brock Lesnar became the WWE Universal champion, he has an unbeatable streak.

Brock Lesnar is now set to become the longest reigning Universal Champion in the history of the company. He will shatter the earlier record set by CM Punk who held the WWE title for 434 days. This was the highest run in the modern era. Most of the fans might not like the fact that Lesnar is surpassing the earlier milestone, but it’s happening.

The Universal Championship title was unveiled to the WWE Universe back in 2016 and Lesnar is the longest reigning holder of the belt. As of May 11th, 2018, the beast has cemented his legacy as the reigning, defending, undisputed Universal Champion for 404 days.

Brock Lesnar has successfully defended his title at Greatest Royal Rumble, but he did not participate in the Backlash. It was expected that Brock would defend his title at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on June 17th, 2018. However, that now does not appear to be the case as it was reported earlier in the week that Lesnar would not be appearing on the MITB PPV.

If Brock Lesnar does not defend his championship at Money in the Bank (or successfully defends), then he will reach the 441st day of the his title run.

CM PUNK WWE Champion Record: CM Punk became WWE champion at 2011 in 2011 Survivor Series after beating Alberto Del Rio. Punk’s title reign come to an end at Royal Rumble 2013 after getting pinned by the Rock. CM Punk’s record as WWE Champion was 434 days.

Mixed reactions are coming from the WWE Universe that Brock Lesnar is holding the title for a very long time as he is a part-timer and rarely appears on the WWE Television.
