Why Was Nikki Cross Not Brought Up To The Main Roster With The Rest Of SAnitY?

As seen on last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown LIVE, the Superstar Shakeup concluded and saw numerous additions to the SmackDown roster. One of which was the call up of former NXT Tag Champs the faction of SAnitY featuring Eric Young, Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe. However, as many fans noticed Nikki Cross was left off the promotional packages hyping SAnitY’s debut on the main roster, which indicates that she is not being called up along with the rest of the group.

On today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explains why Nikki Cross may have been kept down in NXT and not brought up with the rest of SAnitY. Regarding Nikki Cross, Meltzer said:

“I’m surprised no Nikki Cross. I think maybe they’re going to do something with Nikki Cross and Shayna Baszler because Shayna is with the exception of Kairi Sane, Shayna Baszler is really weak on opponents in NXT but I think she would have been good for that act on the main roster.”

“SAnitY can be a babyface team, they could be a heel team either one mixed with all the other teams they’ve got. You know, it’s new matches.”

So it appears as though Nikki Cross is going to do more time in NXT before we see her make her main roster debut, and even when she does it remains to be seen if she will join her former stablemates or if the company plans to repackage her now that they have separated her from the group.
