Exclusive: Details On The Backstage Incident Between Brock Lesnar And Vince McMahon

Reports began to surface last week that there was a heated backstage incident between Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon, following his match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34.  The story was first floated by WrestleVotes on Twitter, and then Pro Wrestling Sheet.

The details of the story indicated that Lesnar threw the Universal Championship belt at either Vince McMahon or a wall nearby.  A short time later, WWE announced that Lesnar signed a new deal with WWE.

A couple of days after the initial report, BodySlam.net Managing Editor Brad Shepard spoke with a source in WWE about the incident.  According to the source, the incident was either a complete work designed to manipulate pro wrestling news sites who they knew the news would leak to, or it was severely over hyped.  It was hard to know with certainty either way because Vince McMahon was keeping the entire situation kayfabe from WWE Superstars and employees.  They stated that Vince McMahon was not happy about the unplanned table spot and did mention it to Lesnar after the match.

The source also stated that they were all told Lesnar would be leaving to go to UFC and dropping the Universal Championship to Reigns at WrestleMania.  Now, Lesnar is expected to be around a few more months, at least.  This was another example of McMahon working his own Superstars and employees after deciding to keep the Universal Championship on Lesnar.

McMahon was reportedly in a great mood backstage at Raw after WrestleMania 34.
