WWE Files For Very Interesting New Trademark

WWE has filed for a new trademark as of April 7th of this year.

WWE has apparently applied to trademark the term “Global Localization”, with the following description:

“Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment; fan club services, namely, organizing and staging events with wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the field of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs in the fields of sports entertainment; business development; entertainment services, namely, development and distribution of talent and content”

While no further information has been given as to what WWE plans to use the trademark for, the description given would appear to indicate that the company has plans for a “News” style program which would cover live wrestling events broadcast on tv, radio, and internet or streaming services.

The show would apparently provide “wrestling news and information via a global computer network.” It would also include a website, fan club services – “namely, organizing and staging events with wrestling club members”, provide an online wrestling/sports entertainment newsletter, online journals/blogs, and “business development” & “entertainment services” – which includes “development and distribution of talent and content.”

We will keep you updated when more information regarding WWE’s filed trademark for “Global Localization” becomes available.
