Local ABC & Fox affiliates in New Orleans, Louisiana have reported that a WWE fan from the United Kingdom who traveled to the city last week to attend WrestleMania 34 has been confirmed to have contracted a case of the measles.

For those who are not aware, measles are a highly contagious viral illness that spreads quickly among those who have not been vaccinated.

It’s being reported that the man arrived in New Orleans late last week, however he became more and more ill throughout the week. Eventually the man was hospitalized locally in New Orleans over the weekend, and the State Office of Public Health Laboratory has now confirmed the illness as a case of the measles.

State Officials have now also confirmed that the man did in fact attend some of the public events in the city during WrestleMania week, and that they are actively tracking his movements throughout the week to identify anyone who may have came into contact with him. This would include taxis/transportation services and restaurants that he may have visited.

The man was reportedly still hospitalized as of Monday. Any Fans who attended WrestleMania Week in New Orleans who have concerns can read the official statement from the Louisiana Department of Health at this link here.
