Date Daniel Bryan’s WWE Contract Expires Revealed

On the recent audio update via PWInsider Elite, Mike Johnson was discussing Cody Rhodes “ALL IN” event and the topic of Daniel Bryan’s rumored potential involvement. During that segment Johnson reveals that Daniel Bryan’s contract with WWE is set to expire on September 23rd, 2018. Which would indicate that Bryan would not be able to appear on the event.

“Obviously the hope at one point was Daniel Bryan, but given the date that Daniel Bryan’s current deal is scheduled to end in September, I believe – September 23rd was the date I had heard. If they were going to try and draw based on the idea of having Daniel Bryan there, it would just makes sense that they would wait until he is available. Maybe that’s a sign that they know Daniel Bryan isn’t going to be there.”

As has been reported, Cody Rhodes planned “ALL IN” show is expected to draw 10,000 fans. The show has been scheduled for September 1st, 2018 at the Sears Centre Arena, in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Which is about 25 minutes outside of Chicago. Max capacity for the venue when set up for wrestling is around 11,000.

Regarding Daniel Bryan and his status with WWE, it will be interesting to see what happens if he is not cleared to compete in time for WrestleMania 34, as he has stated that if he isn’t medically cleared for in-ring action by then, that there is a good chance he would return to the independent circuit. Bryan revealed in an interview with Sports Illustrated a few months back that he expects to know his status by ‘Mania.

“I assume that if I don’t wrestle by WrestleMania, I probably won’t be wrestling with WWE at all,” said Bryan. “That’s my assumption.”

“It’s not a black and white answer,” said Bryan. “There are a lot of issues with me getting cleared by WWE. They have a very strict protocol, which is a good thing, but the timeline of all that happening was not the best for me. It’s an interesting situation that will develop.”
