Rey Mysterio Possibly Signed WWE Deal Prior To Suffering Torn Bicep?

According to a report from PWInsider, Rey Mysterio is set to undergo testing today to determine the severity of the bicep injury that he sustained Friday night in a match for Northeast Wrestling.

Mysterio wrestled in a tag team match alongside Ring of Honor’s Flip Gordon against Joey Mercury and Caleb Konley. During the match Mysterio suffered what is said to be a torn left bicep. Mysterio worked through the injury and finished the match.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson had originally reported that Mysterio was scheduled to have a meeting with Triple H prior to Friday’s NEW Event in Waterbury, CT but that the meeting had to be cancelled due to Triple H having to leave the country and fly to Saudi Arabia to finalize a deal that would secure WWE Live Events being held in the country over the next decade. At the time of the initial report we questioned the legitimacy of Johnson’s report, as it seemed highly unlikely that WWE or Triple H would not be aware of his scheduling needs and book a meeting that would interfere with another scheduled meeting.

Mike Johnson has now updated his original report and mentions that it is now quite possible Mysterio and Triple H had their meeting this past Friday as was originally scheduled. He also adds that it is possible Mysterio signed a deal with WWE prior to working the event for Northeast Wrestling where he was injured.

We will keep you updated as more becomes available regarding Rey Mysterio’s injury and or his WWE status.
