Backstage New On The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal Plans For WrestleMania

Earlier in the week we reported that WWE may not be bringing back the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal for this year’s WrestleMania, and that the match may be replaced by a women’s battle royal instead.

On today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez indicated that WWE will probably book both matches at this year’s WrestleMania 34 event.

“There is likely going to be an Andre the Giant Battle Royal and Women’s Battle Royal,” noted Alvarez.

“They have been discussing both a Men’s [Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal] and Women’s Battle Royal.”

Alvarez continued by speculating that one of the matches would take place on the pre-show, while the other match would take place on the main card. However, nothing is certain until an official announcement is made. The purpose of both of these matches is to include extra WWE talents who are not involved in a featured program a spot on the company’s largest show of the year.
